Nakamun Council is involved in a number of boards and commissions that either enhance or protect our community.
- Lac La Nonne Watershed Stewardship Society
The LWSS is a non-profit registered Society working within the confines of the Lac La Nonne Watershed. It consists of a group of volunteers from the agricultural and recreational sector who became concerned with the quality of the water in the lakes and other water bodies within the wateshed. - Highway 43 Waste Commission
The Highway 43 Waste Commission provides strategic oversight and direction for the Highway 43 waste disposal site. - West Inter Lake District Regional Water Services Commission Regulation (WILD)
The WILD commission oversees the provisioning of water from Edmonton to outlying communities in Lac Ste Anne County. - Family and Community Support Services (FCSS)
The FCSS philosophy is based on a belief that self-help contributes to a sense of integrity, self-worth and independence. Programs developed are intended to help individuals in their community to adopt healthy lifestyles, thereby improving the quality of life and building the capacity to prevent and/or deal with crisis situations should they arise.
