Yes, you heard it right. Lac Ste Anne County council held their development meeting this morning to hear second and possibly third readings on the request from Masse Properties to re-zone the land south of Nakamun Drive as recreational, and they rejected his request for re-zoning.
Harry Kassian and I were at the meeting and spoke on behalf of the residents of the summer village and surrounding county residents, we also had a great turnout of residents to show support for our position. I believe that we convinced council to reject the request based on the overwhelming response that came from both summer village and county residents. There were 34 letters written by residents to the county development officers and I took our petition in with 234 signatures on it. Thanks to everyone who helped by writing letters, volunteering to collect petition signatures, coming to the county meeting, and signing the petitions.
This is a great community that we have and it has demonstrated how well we pull together when needed. I am proud to represent this community on council.
Regards,
Mark Miller
