Re: Fire Ban and ATV Ban Lifted – Effective Immediately, June 2nd, 2023
Please be advised that the Fire Ban and ATV Ban for the Summer Village of Nakamun Park, issued on May 1st, 2023 and modified on May 19th, 2023, is hereby lifted on June 2nd, 2023.
In consultation with our regional fire service partners, Council is now assured that we have returned to a normal range of ambient conditions, with a moderate fire fuel hazards and higher relative humidity than in recent weeks. With the risk of fire minimalized Council is now able to lift the referenced bans.
Council thanks everyone for their cooperation in adhering to the restrictions while in place. Now that the bans are lifted, we also remind all residents and visitors to the village to be vigilant in practicing fire safety at all times: never leave a fire unattended, make sure fires are in an approved fire pit and use a spark screen, and always keep a water source or fire extinguisher nearby.
