Re: Emergency Management – DDEM Recruitment and Upcoming Block Captain Info Session
The Summer Village of Nakamun Park has just opened two exciting opportunities for community members to get involved in our emergency management service:
1) Request for Expressions of Interest – Deputy Direct of Emergency Management (DDEM) Position – Closing Oct 31st, 2024.
The DDEM is an essential part of the emergency management team in a local authority, serving the primary functions of planner and responder. Working closely with the local DEM and Council, the DDEM also has a key role in the regional emergency management network, including advocacy, proactive risk management planning, training, and team building.
2) Block Captain Info Session – 7pm Nov. 6th, 2024:
Join the Emergency Management leadership team for a community information session on the Block Captain Program within the region, and how it could work here in Nakamun Park. Becoming a block captain is a great way to volunteer in the community, helps promote the development of a robust local emergency management network, and ensures neighbourhood needs are considered in planning/responding to local and regional emergency situations.
The information session will be hosted at the administration office, with virtual attendance through Zoom available as well. Anyone wishing to join the session is asked to RSVP their registration to
