    It is with much sadness that we announce the recent passing of Harry Kassian, long-serving councillor for the Summer Village of Nakamun Park. Councillor Kassian passed away on October 22nd, 2023, after a brief illness. Harry is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, a large and loving family, and his many friends.
    On behalf of municipal council and staff, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of our friend and colleague, Harry. As a councillor, Harry gave so much to make our community the vibrant and welcoming place it is today. We will forever be grateful for his exemplary dedication to local governance and service to our community.
    As a matter of process, the vacancy on municipal council resulting from Harry’s passing will remain until a byelection can be held. Additional information on this process will be provided once approved by council.
