    Dear Residents and guests:
Re:   Regional Fire Advisory Update – April 25th, 2023
In reference to above, please be advised that Lac Ste. Anne County has issued a Fire Advisory in their municipality. This is in response to the current dry spring conditions in much of the region, include their Division 2 area (including Nakamun Lake). This Advisory was issued on April 17th, 2023 and remains in effect at the time of this post.
The Summer Village of Nakamun Park is monitoring this situation closely. At this time, we have not issued a fire ban or any specific restrictions. However, we are asking residents and guests to observe extreme caution if having a fire at this time. This include using an approved fit pit with a spark arrestor screen, making sure to keep fires contained and manageable, and remembering to keep a water supply at the ready and to douse embers in water before leaving the site.
It is also a good time to remind everyone to consider ways of making your lot “FireSmart.” This includes reducing the fire load (overgrowth, dead trees, dry grass, leaves, etc.) from your property, and keeping combustible materials/fuels stored property. For more information on ways to help protect your property, please visit: https://firesmartcanada.ca/homeowners/.
We will continue to monitor the situation along with our regional partners and provide updates as the condition changes.
Thank you for your cooperation on this matter,
    Administration
