Residents,
Earlier this week Administration was informed that some suspicious activity had been reported in the Nakamun Park area. We have since confirmed that some isolated cases of property crime/theft have occurred within the village during that same time period. We have informed our Community Peace Officer and he will keep an extra eye open for suspicious activity in the area. However, we remind residents that property crime and other criminal activity must be reported to the RCMP for investigation. Further, the municipality cannot initiate or manage such reports on your behalf. If you are the victim of a crime, please make sure your first call is 9-1-1.
These reported events are a good reminder that the off-season leaves
summer villages vulnerable to property crime and residents and property owners should take time to consider preventative measures against property crime on your lots. Please note the attached information from the RCMP for tips on how to secure your home property and processions.

Again, if you do need to report a crime please call 9-1-1. Dispatch will send either the CPO or local RCMP officers to secure the scene until investigators arrive.
